(Translation by Dani Murad)

The situation is changing rapidly in northern Syria as rebel fighters have launched widespread attacks against the “Sleeping Cells” of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in dozens of locations in Idlib, and according to sources in the countryside of the city, rebels have targeted the organization’s hideouts in the city’s border villages including Binnish, in addition to a number of towns in the eastern countryside of Idlib.

Moreover, rebels have arrested about 150 people on charges of cooperating with ISIS, and forming armed cells to raid on FSA fighters, in addition to pledging alliances with the organization.

The incidents coincided with locals’ testimonies that 400 ISIS members have fled to the organization’s eastern stronghold in Syria “Raqqa”, revealing that the organization is building a network of spies in areas it had withdrawn from, to send daily reports to the organization’s leaders of rebels’ status and their movements.

In another context, a local source in the border village of Atmeh said that heavy machine gun sounds were heard yesterday at Iftar time accompanied with the use of heavy weapons, and as a result two foreign fighters were killed, one of them is "French", however, stories on the incident have varied, and some attributed it to a personal dispute between fighters from the battalion of Mohajereen ( immigrants), while others believed it is likely to be rebels attack against one of the state’s stronghold in north of Syria .
