As people starve in Damascus suburbs, ISIS hides basic staples

Zaman Alwasl- The Free Syrian Army “FSA” and other Islamic groups have discovered tons on food in ISIS’s Emir’s home in Yalda. Sayyah Abo Tayyara, known as “Farrama”, ISIS’s Emir in Southern Damascus, managed to run away after 4 days siege of his home in Yalda, where other 82 member of ISIS surrendered.

The Amir escaped to al-Hajar al-Aswad where he fell under siege again, where FSA and other fighting groups trying to get rid of him and ISIS from Southern of Damascus.

Islam Allosh, the spokesman of the Islamic Front, one of fighting groups, confirmed that operation have been going on to clean East Ghouta, beside other places.

When FSA and other Islamic groups managed to break in ISIS’s bases, they were shocked to discover tons of expired food, like flour, sugar, rice and other, while the same 150 people died of hunger and other 25 thousand people under risk of death of hunger in the same area.

Abo Yazan, an activist explained that hiding that huge amount of food was the reason behind prices’ souring in the area, and if that huge amount of food had been distributed in market, it would have been enough to people the area for months.

The activist hint to a highly possible connection between ISIS and Syrian regime and says: “how ISIS managed to transfer all that amount of food to the area, while the regime forcing severe siege, as ISIS’s bases full of food, arms, while other fighting group suffer of severe lack of them”

Battles started last Thursday forced ISIS to leave Yalda, and many of its members moved to Tadamon and the Amir run away to al-Hajar al-Aswad and still under siege.
