Syria’s health officials said on Thursday that 1056 students and teachers have been infected by coronavirus since the beginning of the education semester.
Hatoon Al-Tawashi, the Director of School Health, said the infections were distributed between 500 students, and 556 for teachers, administrators and school health personnel.
Nearly 8,059 people have now been confirmed with the coronavirus in Syria, and while at least 3,624 people have recovered from COVID-19, more than 426 have died, according to JHU CSSE COVID-19 Data.
