(Zaman Alwasl)- At least 7 people belong to the same family were killed east Hama province when fighters of al-Qaeda splinter group stormed their village near al-Salamiyah city on Sunday, a monitoring group said.
The Islamic State fighters have attacked al-Mzeira’a village, predominantly by Ismaili sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, killing a family of 7 members, including a child and a woman, and leaving others injured, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
Meanwhile, the observatory reported that 2 commanders and one fighter of the Islamic factions have been killed in clashes with Bashar al-Assad’s forces in the vicinity of al-Sher village and al-Majdal checkpoint, in the northern and western countryside of Hama.
