Turkish police arrest Syrian hacker leads cyber robbery network

The Turkish police arrested a network led by a Syrian citizen in Istanbul over cyber robbery and money laundry, seizing millions of Turkish liras, local newspaper said Friday.

According to Sozcu news website, the police have arrested a criminal network, including 13 people and led by a Syrian resident, after receiving a report on Thursday that user accounts of the international currency trading network "Forex" had been hacked.

The newspaper indicated that the total sums seized by the network were estimated at more than 25 million Turkish liras, pointing out that police officers found most of the sums piled up in the network’s headquarters that was raided in Istanbul.
