Assad army, allied militias loot Yarmouk camp property: monitor

A Palestinian monitoring group reported looting acts by Syrian forces and allied militias against the property of Palestinian refugees in the Yarmouk refugee camp south of Damascus, 

The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria said in a report that despite the return of about 600 families to their homes in Yarmouk camp, looting and theft of the civilians homes and properties are continuing by security personnel and pro-regime Palestinian militias

Activists and camp residents confirmed that they saw army members looting homes and the infrastructure, including electric cables and plastic pipes.

Many vehicles loaded with stolen items still drive out daily towards Damascus, The Britain-based group said.

 The camp residents called on the regime authorities, the Palestine Liberation Organization and UNRWA to work to secure the camp’s infrastructure and expedite their return to their homes as soon as possible.
