(Zaman Alwasl)- Syrians abroad face a travel ban to Jakarta imposed by Syrian intelligence as the Indonesians embassies require an approval from regime authorities in Damascus.
Indonesian diplomatic sources in one of the Arab Gulf States say Syrians travel to Jakarta for tourism requires Syrian regime's approval.
The new instructions by of the Indonesians embassies stipulated that any Syrian wants to travel to Indonesia should submit a formal application attached with his personal data and information, to be sent after that to the Indonesian embassy in Damascus, which in turn coordinates with the Air Force Intelligence, and check if the person is wanted to the regime or not.
Visa applications of many Syrians, who live in the Gulf, have been refused over the agreement, the source said.
In a related context, the Australian government put more pressure on the Indonesian authorities to halt illegal travel by Syrians to its territory through a nearby island.
