30 rebels, families evacuated from Quneitra to northern Syria

Thirty rebel fighters with their families were bussed Thursday from southern Quneitra province towards the opposition areas in northern Syria over a Russian-brokered deal.
 
The deportation took place after the town of Umm Batinah near the Israeli-Occupied Golan Heights was besieged for two weeks by the Syrian regime forces, according to Zaman al-Wasl reporter. 
 
At least 30 members of the rebel group that controls the town have refused to a reconciliation offer and preferred to leave to northern Syria.
 
Damascus has failed in southern Syria as its notorious security services continue arrests campaigns and keep tracking former rebel fighters who laid down their weapons, seeking to start a new post-war life.
 
In July 2018, about 3000 rebels and their families evacuated southern Syria under a Russian-mediated deal but few rebel groups still enjoy power resulting in scattered clashes over the past three years.
