Syrian artist designs mosaic model of Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Syrian artist Mohamed al-Dani designed a mosaic model of Al-Aqsa Mosque, conveying the smallest details in the dome, and the decorations and columns contained in the historical Islamic landmark, all the way to the golden dome.

The mosaics that adorn the Dome of the Rock, dating back to the Umayyad Era, are world-famous, and are considered among the most magnificent mosaic works in the world in terms of design and size.

But it is located at a great height inside the dome that does not allow visitors to see it up close, which was embodied by the artist residing in the Turkish city of Hatay.

Al-Dani says that the more varied grades of stones he has, the more this will be a factor in the success of the art piece and its distinction more, adding that there are many sources of stones imported from India, Spain, Brazil and Turkey.

As for the dome of Al-Aqsa Mosque, he used an artist who made copper models and designed it after providing it with the required measurements to simulate the original dome.
