Latakia fire brigade extinguished 43 fires within a week that broke out in separate areas of the coastal city and its countryside, local media reported.
Major. Muhannad Jaafar, head of the Latakia fire brigade, said most of the fires broke in bundles of dried herbs and grassy areas.
Most fires raging the coastal region were triggered by a heatwave causing financial damage.
