Idlib: Russia warplanes renew airstrikes on Jabal al-Zawiya

The Russian warplanes conducted five air strikes on Jabal al-Zawiya region in northern Idlib province and the Al-Kabbana hilltops east of Latakia province, Zaman al-Wasl reporter said Thursday.

No casualties were reported.

In retaliation, Captain Naji al-Mustafa, the spokesman for the National Liberation Front told Zaman Al-Wasl that his rebel faction had hit regime bastions in Joreen camp west of Hama province, and other military sites and barracks in the southern countryside of Idlib, using artillery shells and Grad missiles.

Nearly 75% of the total population in northwestern Syria's opposition-held Idlib region depends on humanitarian aid to meet their basic needs as 1.6 million people continue to live in camps or informal settlements, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said.

In Syria desert, the Russian warplanes launched more than 15 air raids in the past 72 hours on the Islamic State's pockets in the Kabajib desert, Al-Shoula, and Jabal Al-Bishri in the southwestern countryside of Deir Ezzor province.
