YPG missile attack kill three civilians in Afrin city

At least three civilians were killed Wednesday in a missile attack by Kurdish YPG militia on northern Afrin city, according to local reports.

It was indicated that a petrol station was targeted, causing a large fire and a plume of smoke.

Later in the day, Turkey's southeastern border province Hatay's province said that the attacks by YPG were carried out from Tal Rifaat, in northwestern Syria, and killed three civilians, including a child, and injured four others.

According to the statement, the YPG conducted a total of 13 missile attacks.

Turkey’s military backed by Syrian opposition forces seized Afrin, a mainly Kurdish district, from the YPG in March 2018 in a major offensive.

Turkey claims the YPG is a "terrorist" offshoot of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has fought an insurgency against the Turkish state since 1984.
