Assad artillery attacks kill one person in Hama province

One person was killed and three more wounded in artillery attacks by the Syrian regime forces on rebel-held areas in northwestern Hama province, local reporter said Sunday.

The regime forces and Iran-backed militias, stationed in Joreen camp in the Ghab Plain, have intensified artillery and missile fire on the villages and towns of al-Ziyara, al-Ankawi, al-Zaqqum, Qastun, Khirbet al-Naqoos, and Dower al-Kurd in the al-Ghab Plain area, west of Hama province. The artillery shelling has also targeted the villages of al-Fatirah, Sfuhun, Kafr Aweed, Felifil, al-Ruwaiha, al-Bara, Benin and Kansafra in the Jabal Al-Zawiya region, south of Idlib province.

No casualties have been reported.

In their turn,  al-Fateh al-Mubeen fighters killed a regime army soldier near the town of Saraqib, east of Idlib.

Opposition-held areas in northern Syria are home to 3.5 million civilians, according to the United Nations.

Syria's war has killed nearly half a million people and displaced millions since it began with the brutal repression of anti-regime protests in 2011.
