Reporting by Faris  Al Rifai; Translation by Yusra Ahmed

(Zaman Alwasl)- Rawan Kaddah’s mother, the girl who’s detained in Assad’s prison, told Zaman Alwasl details about abducting her husband, and arresting Rawan before.

Rawan Kaddah, the 16-year old girl from Nawa near Dara’a, who was earlier forced to confess on Assad’s run-media of practicing sex-jihad, and was raped by her father. Her mother said to Zaman Alwasl that Rawan was arrested in November 2012 to force her father, a leader on ground in the FSA, to hand himself to regime, when they failed to achieve what they want, they fabricated the story of sex-jihad to defame her family and the values and norms of Syrian people and revolution.

She detailed that on 10th November 2012, after bombing their house, her husband advised her to leave the house because they were under observation by Shabilha. In her way, she had to change the Taxi three times for security reasons, however, unfortunately, she was stopped at Tessil’s barrier, when only Rawan was arrested. “I have not seen Rawan since that time, till Hasna al-Hariri, the Martyrs’ mother , was freed, she told me that Rawan was with her in prison, and her condition was bad, were girls and women were under frequent torture and rape.”

Om Taha added that her husband moved them to Jordan, and came back to Syria. She was shocked after a while to see Rawan on Assad-run media confessing of disgusting things and saying inappropriate words about her father.

The desperate mother said that her daughter was due to be freed among the 8 female detainees in the exchange deal with Rani Makhlouf, Bashar’s cousin, and people for al-Nusra front confirmed to her father that she was among them, however Shabiha kept moving Rawan around different prisons without releasing her. “Even one time an officer contacted us and offered freeing Rawan for $ 30 thousand to be paid in advance, but we rejected the deal because we were sure it was a conning attempt”.

The mother added that on the day of releasing Rawan, her father requested some people to go and bring her, but the shock was that he was abducted instead.

Monir Kaddah, a family relative detailed the abduction saying: “on 8th ,April, 2014, after evening prayer, Milad Kaddah, Rawan’s father, left the Mosque in Heet village, near Tessil with two people, one of them was his cousin Omran al-Sholi, about 300 meters away from the mosque, they were abducted by armed people in a white Jeep, about one kilometer away, abductors killed the other man and threw him from the car, and 20 days later, the body on Milad’s cousin was found, however no information is available about Rawan’s father till now, we don’t know if he is killed or still detained”

Om Taha expressed her shock from Rawan’s appearance on Syrian TV and from the stuff she mentioned, which all was lies and said under threat and torture. “Even her father was about to die of a heart attack” added

In the end, Abo Omar Horani, a poet and an activist commented on his relative's disappearance saying: “till now we don’t have any information about Milad, is it difficult for the UN and human right to know the names of detainees, all what we need is to know if he is dead or still alive”.
