Assad forces ignore IS plans to attack Ismailis strongholds, east Hama

Translation by Yusra Ahmed

(Zaman Al Wasl)- A well-informed source to Zaman al-Wasl said regime army was aware of the latest attacks of Islamic State group on Ismailis sect strongholds in Salamiyah city, east Hama.

The source, who has strong ties with Syrian secret services, said Syrian army last week was informed of an imminent attack by IS on Tal-Dera town, predominantly by Ismailis sect, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, but informers reports were ignored for ambiguous reasons.

Salamiya city which situated on the enclaves of Syrian desert with 60 miles far from Raqqa province, has been targeted by many terrorist attacks by the ‘State’ without any serious response by the Assad forces.
