"Iraqi Hezbollah" militia deploys in Badia desert

The "Iraqi Hezbollah" militia has deployed military reinforcements in the desert Sukhnah town in the eastern Homs countryside on Friday.

Zaman al-Wasl sources said the reinforcements were brought from Damascus to set up several military points, in addition to establishing two exercise fields on the outskirts of the town of Sukhnah.

The reinforcements were launched on Friday evening from one of the militia's military headquarters in the town of "Hajira", south of Damascus, and included more than seven armored vehicles and more than 15 four-wheel drive vehicles equipped with medium and heavy machine guns such as 23 mm anti-aircraft.

It also included more than 80 combatants, equipped with full field equipment, and a number of cargo vehicles loaded with weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

The reinforcements were accompanied by military helicopters on the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor road.

Iranian militias have been working for weeks to strengthen their military presence in the areas of the Syrian Badia, specifically the areas of the eastern countryside of Homs, after they were targeted by the cells of the Islamic State, which are still active throughout eastern Syria.
