Idlib: Civil Defense rehabilitates roads of western countryside

The Syrian Civil Defense began the rehabilitation of a number of roads in the coastal camps and villages and towns in the western countryside of Idlib.

The White Helmets said the beneficiaries of these works are the people of the villages and towns (Khirbet Al-Jouz, Badria, Bekasria, Al-Za'iniyah, and Al-Hanbousheya and the surrounding camps (the al-Jabal Camp, Qallet Al-Sindyan and Al-Fatihah). camps) and the length of the roads that will be worked on is estimated at 5 km.

The White Helmets stressed that the people in the camps and towns in northwest Syria are suffering because of the poor quality of the roads they use, after they were affected by the natural factors and conditions of war waged by the Assad regime and Russia over the 11 years of war in Syria.

This comes amid an almost complete absence of maintenance operations for roads and infrastructure, as civil defense teams are working to respond to this reality within early recovery activities to improve services and help civilians to settle.

The northern region of Syria is home to 3.5 million refugees but controlled by the opposition's military factions amid piling economic difficulties due to a decade of war that claimed 500,000 lives and has displaced 13,2 million people.
