Damascus suburbs: "Chickenpox" spreads in Al-Hussainiya camp

The rate of chickenpox infections in the al-Hussainiya camp for Palestinian refugees in Damascus suburbs has increased significantly in recent times due to the scarcity of water and the lack of medical services provided to the people, monitoring group said.

The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria quoted one of the camp's doctors as saying that smallpox is no longer a concern as it was in the past, as it can be easily treated due to the availability of vaccines and anti-medicine, noting that its spread gives a negative indication of air and water pollution in the camp.

The chickenpox infections have also spread among children, especially among schoolchildren, AGPS reported.

The chickenpox is a contagious viral disease that is easy and fast to spread, as it is considered one of the most viral epidemics in terms of spread and outbreak, and it appears in the form of a skin rash in the form of red spots.

 These spots are irritating and cause severe itching. it begin to appear in the abdomen, face, and back, and quickly spread over the entire surface of the skin of the patient.These spots are initially blisters or small transparent grains filled with water, so it is called (chickenpox) and then these blisters go through the stage of water dryness. completely and shrink until it disappears.
