Palmyra: Iranian militia burns 3 houses of ISIS fighters relatives

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards militia on Wednesday burned three houses in the desert city of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs, after storming and searching them, in an act of revenge against civilians whose relatives belonged to the "Islamic State" group.

Zaman al-Wasl reporter said that the IRG had delayed the arrival of the firefighting teams by deploying temporary patrols and checkpoints inside the city, which caused the outbreak of the fire in all the houses.

Local activists confirmed that the owners of the three houses had previously suffered from continuous harassment by the militia about their relatives' affiliation with ISIS, and were arrested several times and subjected to severe torture.

It is noteworthy that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps largely dominates the historic city of Palmyra, where the major powers are considered, especially since the regime forces receive their direct orders from the militia leadership.
