Douma death toll tops 120, third of them children, as airstrikes continue


 (Zaman Al Wasl) – The death toll of Syrian forces airstrikes on Douma in four days has topped 120 people, a third of them children, with more than 170 wounded, Medical Center of the rebel-held city northeast Damascus said.

Basher al-Assad’s warplanes conducted on Wednesday devastating airstrikes on Douma city where entire buildings had turned to rubble; Medical center said many corpses still under debris.

 Despite sporadic numbers of casualties between activists and monitoring groups, lack of medical equipments still the urgent need to save life of wounded people, according to medics.

Douma has been under suffocating army siege for more than a year.

In relevant development, Zahran Alloush, the commander of United Military Command in Eastern Ghouta near Damascus, said he will execute regime army pilots, who were held captive by rebels, in response to Douma massacre, according to video-statement posted online.

Meanwhile, at least 191,369 people have been killed in Syria's conflict; more than double the figure documented a year ago and probably still an under-estimate, according to the United Nations.
