A Russian warplane carried out two air strikes on Friday targeting the Sheikh Bahr area in the northern countryside of Idlib, while the Russian-backed forces and militias conducted air-ground military exercises in Jabal al-Akrad region, northeast of Latakia province, northwest of Syria.
Zaman al-Wasl reporter said that a Russian Sukhoi-34 warplane carried out two airstrikes using high-explosive missiles, targeting the "Sheikh Bahr" area near the town of Maarat Misrin in the northern countryside of Idlib.
On the other hand, the "25th Special Task Force", jointly with the Russian forces and other Russian-backed forces, conducted air and ground military exercises in the Jabal al-Akrad region in the northeastern countryside of Latakia, on Friday.
Informed sources confirmed to Zaman al-Wasl that Syrian regime warplanes "Sukhoi-22" participated in the exercises, and carried out several raids with live ammunition near the contact lines separating the opposition areas and the regime-controlled areas in the Jabal al-Akrad region.
Training was also conducted on airdrops via Russian helicopters in the "Salma" area in the same countryside, in addition to ground exercises with launchers, heavy guns and medium machine guns, under the supervision of Russian officers from the Hmeimim air base.
