Aid convoy enters Idlib through regime's front lines

An aid convoy of the World Food Program (WFP) crossed the regime-held areas controlled to opposition-controlled areas in the eastern countryside of Idlib city, sources told Zaman al-Wasl on Saturday.

At least 18 trucks loaded with food baskets and flour entered this afternoon from the organization's warehouses within the regime forces' control areas in Aleppo, to its warehouses in the Bab al-Hawa area. On the Syrian-Turkish border, north of Idlib province, northwest of Syria.

This is the third convoy across the lines of contact separating the regime forces and the opposition forces after the UN Security Council extended the decision to enter aid for a period of 6 months on the 12th of last July, especially since the first convoy entered on the 4th of last August with 14 trucks.

The second convoy was last September 17 with 16 trucks, bringing the total number of the WFP convoys that entered through the contact lines before and after the decision was extended to eight convoys with a total of 119 trucks.
