The PMC Wagner Centre funded by billionaire Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin officially opened in St Petersburg on Friday.
The centre is designed to strengthen Russia's "defence capability" according to Prigozhin and will house developers, IT specialists and start-ups.
Prigozhin, a close confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin, also known as "Putin's chef", has only recently admitted to be the owner of the Russian mercenary group Wagner.
The Wagner Group plays a key role in the fighting in Ukraine and has been accused of war crimes in Africa and Syria.
