The regiem's Fourth Division sent large reinforcements to the southern province of Daraa and deployed them along the Damascus-Amman international highway, after the regime unleashed the pro-Iranian militia in the southern region bordering Jordan, where it supervises drug smuggling operations.
The Free Horan League confirmed that the deployment was along the Damascus-Amman International Road, starting from the "Manket al-Hatab" checkpoint to the "Khirbet Ghazala Bridge", explaining that this raid comes after military build-ups and the fortification of the positions of the regime forces along the road.
The reinforcements that arrived from the 15th Division in the town of Izraa also included members equipped with light and medium weapons, who were stationed in a number of points scattered in the area, most notably the al-Ghazali complex near the village of Qarfa, and those forces also established new sites for them, according to the League.
The local monitoring group quoted private sources as saying that the reinforcements that arrived in the area are practically affiliated with the Fourth Division, and the process of fortifying the sites took place under the direct coordination and supervision of the Fourth Division and Iranian militias in the region.
The group added that the purpose of these reinforcements, which will be permanently stationed in the area, is to protect the smuggling route, transport hashish and raw materials needed for the Captagon industry to the area, and ensure that they are not targeted, especially after a military bus was targeted near Khirbet Ghazaleh less than a month ago.
The Houran League stated that the Iran-backed Fourth Division redeployed its checkpoints near the Nassib crossing, after it announced its withdrawal from the area less than two years ago.
