The White Helmets rescue agency announced the start of the phase of removing rubble on a geographical scale that includes all the affected cities and towns in northwestern Syria, as part of the comprehensive response plan to the devastating earthquake that struck the region on February 6 and recovery from its long-term effects.
The Syrian Civil Defense said in a statement that it has developed an integrated plan to implement the rubble removal operations, and coordination has been made with the local councils to set parameters that take into account the priority of starting with buildings located within the urban scope, or that have greatly affected the lives of communities, and then moving to buildings that are farther from the urban scope and have limited impact. .

The rescue agency added that during the implementation of the rubble removal process, the Foundation is committed to the legal determinants of preserving the rights of the owners of demolished real estate and their property, and by forming a specialized committee to obtain authorization from the people and follow up on their delivery of the trusts and the secretions of the recycling process.
The White Helmets stressed that the implementation of the works will be in accordance with an environmentally friendly approach, which ensures the acceleration of the removal of rubble, in order to reduce the consequences of its presence in residential neighborhoods and help in the rehabilitation of infrastructure.
The recycling of rubble will also take into account standards related to environmental risks, through the use of these rubble in a deliberate manner that does not have any harmful consequences for the environment and achieves recovery for local communities, according to the statement.
