The Turkish Immigration Department said on Monday that it has deported 21,211 irregular migrants since the beginning of the year.
It added in a statement, reported by the Anadolu Agency (AA), that it continues to combat irregular immigration and deport illegal immigrants who entered the country through illegal means.
The last of these deportations took place on Monday via 4 "charter" flights, which took off from Istanbul Airport with 134 Afghans on board, according to the statement.
In a related context, the statement indicated that the Immigration Department deported 124,441 irregular immigrants last year.
