US-led coalition conducts military exercises in eastern Syria

The international coalition forces, led by the United States of America, conducted military exercises in one of their military bases deployed in the Kurdish-held areas in northeastern Syria.

A local source in the countryside of Al-Hasakah province told Zaman al-Wasl that the International Coalition forces stationed at Tal Baidar base, north of Al-Hasakah, began military exercises with live ammunition on Saturday, which resulted in the sound of successive explosions, coinciding with the flight of helicopters over the area.

The source confirmed that US military cargo planes belonging to the International Coalition forces landed on Saturday evening at Al-Shaddadi base, south of Al-Hasakah province.

On Friday, the coalition forces sent military reinforcements from the Koniko gas field base in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor to the Al-Omar oil field base, east of Deir ez-Zor.

The reinforcements included four military vehicles and seven trucks carrying logistical and medical materials and military equipment.

The reinforcements came a week after the start of intensive military training at the Al-Omar field base on heavy weapons for the International Coalition Forces, with the participation of  the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

These exercises coincided with "training" air raids carried out by coalition warplanes in the vicinity of the base.
