Three people, including a child, were killed on Monday in mutual missile and mortar fire between Syrian regime forces and the Kurdish-led forces in the eastern Deir Ezzor governorate.
Local sources told Zaman al-Wasl that the victims were civilians and did not belong to any military entity. They were killed as a result of mortar shells fired by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) falling on civilian homes in the city of al-Mayadeen, east of Deir Ezzor?
The sources confirmed that the Syrian regime forces and Iranian militias stationed on the western bank of the Euphrates River, on Monday morning, targeted civilian homes in the town of "Hawaij Dhiban" with mortar shells, and the bombing resulted in the death of the child, in addition to causing material losses to civilian property.
The contact lines between the Iranian militias and the Syrian regime forces on the one hand, and the SDF forces on the other hand, witnessed skirmishes during the recent period through mutual shelling with mortar shells and heavy machine guns, which resulted in civilian casualties, especially since this coincided with the attacks of the Arab clans on SDF points near banks of the Euphrates River.
