(Zaman Al Wasl- EA World View)- Opposition activists are claiming a new regime toxic gas attack, this time on Adra, 12 miles north of Damascus. They claim seven people have died.
The Syrian military has stepped up bombardment of Adra, taken by insurgents in December 2013. It is also pursuing ground operations to try and enter the “Old Town” section.
Activists also reported killing of Col. Wajiah Haider, leader of regime’s armed militia National Defence Units in clashes with rebels in Adra.
Most of Eastern Ghouta suburbs with neighboring towns as Douma and Adra have been under suffocating army siege for more than a year.
Meanwhile, at least 191,369 people have been killed in Syria's conflict; more than double the figure documented a year ago and probably still an under-estimate, according to the United Nations.
