Rebels terminate prisoners' intractability in Idlib

(Zaman Al Wasl)- Rebels have terminated an intractability carried by prisoners in Idlib province against death verdicts set by Shariah Authority, no casualties reported, activists said.

The Islamic Authority, which runs judiciary and prosecution affairs in rebel-held areas since taking control of civil courts in 2012, has faced unexpected rebellion by prisoners who refused latest verdicts issued against them.

The Authority, in statement posted online, said ‘situation is under control,’ after support from fighters of Ahrar al-Sham Movement and Suqour al-Sham.

The prisoners had been transferred to another jail, statement said.
