The Opposition forces' task room said its forces had seized the operation headquarters of the Radhwan Regiment, Hezbollah's elite forces, in Saraqib city, east of Idlib.
Zaman al-Wasl reporter said that about 700 members of the Iran-funded special operation force were deployed in the eastern Idlib countryside, and their main operations headquarters were in the city of Saraqib.
Hezbollah's elite offensive forces did not withdraw at all in conjunction with the start of the Israeli attack on the party's positions in Lebanon, but rather reinforced their presence in the eastern Idlib countryside, to avoid Israel's airstrikes in Lebanon and the rest of the Syrian provinces.
Opposition forces swept into the city of Aleppo, east of Idlib province, on Friday night, forcing the army to redeploy in the biggest challenge to President Bashar al-Assad in years.
Idlib province had fallen completely under opposition control in the boldest opposition assault for years in a civil war where frontlines had largely been frozen since 2020.
