Zaman al-Wasl learned from special sources that Russia has begun withdrawing its forces from Qamishli Airport in the northeastern countryside of Hasakah Governorate, towards the Hmeimim Air Base in the Jableh area in the Latakia countryside, northwest of Syria.
The sources confirmed that Russian forces withdrew equipment from Qamishli Airport in the northeastern countryside of Hasakah Governorate yesterday, Saturday, via two Ilyushin transport planes, to the Hmeimim Base in the Jableh area in the Latakia countryside, confirming that they also withdrew two warplanes from the airport towards the largest Russian bases in Syria.
The sources indicated that Russian forces still keep 5 Sukhoi-34 warplanes at Qamishli Airport, suggesting that they will likely be transferred to the Hmeimim Air Base in the coming days in preparation for dismantling them and transferring them to Russia.
The American newspaper "Washington Post" had pointed out the day before yesterday, Friday, citing satellite images, that Russia is working to dismantle its military equipment in Syria, explaining that Russia is dismantling helicopters and S-400 air defense systems and preparing them for transportation from Syria.
