Zaman Al-Wasl launches “Popular Justice” campaign to legally pursue war criminals

Zaman al-Wasl launches a legal campaign to hold accountable war criminals who committed violations against the Syrian people.

The legal team of Zaman al-Wasl has previously pursued war criminals in Europe over the past years, bringing them to court and issuing criminal sentences against them.

Zaman al-Wasl's legal advisor, Firas Haj Yheia, explained that the law also allows filing a complaint against inciters of murder from any neighboring country.

Haj Yheia revealed that a complaint can be filed against known murderers with documented testimony, and a complaint can be filed against inciters of murder, chemical weapons and arson before the fall of the regime.

In turn, Editor-in-Chief Fathi Ibrahim Bayoud said that "Zaman al-Wasl" is continuing its path through this campaign in light of the new phase of establishing a free and stable Syria with transitional justice, by launching the "popular justice" track.

Bayoud confirmed that the campaign is based on the Syrian Penal Code, so that the families of martyrs, detainees or those personally affected can file a complaint to the Syrian Public Prosecutor in the city in which they live.
