Assad's militants kill 4 General Security forces west of Homs

Four members of the Syrian General Security Forces were killed and six others were injured in an ambush near the town of Talkalakh in the western countryside of Homs, carried out by armed groups outside the law that were previously part of the forces of the ousted regime of Bashar al-Assad.

Informed sources told Zaman al-Wasl that the Military Operations Department sent reinforcements to the area with the aim of arresting the perpetrators of the attack in the village of Balqsa.

The security campaign in the Homs countryside was tracking down Shujaa al-Ali, one of the most prominent leaders of the kidnapping gangs affiliated with the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime, and the one behind the wave of incitement and chaos.

Al-Ali was killed after violent clashes in the village of "Balqsa".

Al-Ali is considered responsible for hundreds of kidnappings by the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime in the Homs countryside and on the Syrian-Lebanese border, and he was demanding a ransom of up to 50 thousand US dollars from the families of the kidnapped.

In footage circulated on Wednesday of demonstrations following allegations of burning the shrine of the founder of the Alawite sect, al-Ali appeared urging demonstrators to burn mosques and threatening the residents of the "Houla" area in the northern Homs countryside with death.

In Tartus, extensive combing operations are being carried out in the countryside to ensure control of the security situation after the bloody events that took place on Wednesday.

The Minister of Interior in the Syrian caretaker government, Mohammad Abdul Rahman, announced yesterday evening, Wednesday, the martyrdom of 14 members and the injury of 10 others from the Ministry of Interior forces, after they were subjected to a treacherous ambush in the countryside of Tartous.

Military sources confirmed to Zaman al-Wasl that the ambush took place on Wednesday afternoon in the village of Khirbet al-Ma'za, in the Safita district, in the countryside of Tartous, northwest of Syria, where an armed group affiliated with the remnants of the former regime targeted a security patrol in an attack described as "brutal and treacherous." The ministry confirmed that the elements were performing their daily tasks to ensure security and stability in the area when they were attacked.
