Lebanese security forces handed over 70 Syrians, including officers, to the new Syrian government on Saturday via the Arida border crossing, the official Lebanese National News Agency reported.
The agency said that "the army handed over the management of military operations in Syria to about 70 (citizens) from Syria, including officers of various ranks in the former regime's forces."
It added that the individuals who were handed over to Syria were arrested in the Jbeil district in Mount Lebanon Governorate on Friday, after they entered the country illegally.
