For the first time, Syrian helicopters participate in combing operations in the coastal mountains against fighters of the ousted Assad regime

Military sources reported to Zaman al-Wasl that helicopters belonging to the Military Operations Department took off on Saturday from the Astamo airport in the countryside of Latakia province to participate in extensive combing operations in the coastal mountains, with the aim of eliminating the remnants of the ousted Bashar al-Assad regime that are still entrenched in the rugged mountainous areas.

This came after the deadline for handing over weapons had expired, as the security authorities announced that anyone who refuses to hand over their weapons will be considered "outlaws" as of today, Saturday.

As part of the security campaign implemented by the Military Operations Department in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, a large-scale operation was launched this morning in the Stamrkho area, northwest of Syria, based on reports from local residents about the presence of armed groups affiliated with the remnants of Assad's militias.
