The Jordanian Foreign Affairs Directorate reported on Saturday that the total number of Syrians who left Jordan from December 6, 2024 to December 28 reached 22,215 Syrians, where a large number of them came via a third country "transit".
Al-Mamlaka TV quoted the Director of the Authority, Basem Al-Dhamsheh, as saying that the number of Syrian refugees who left Jordan out of the total number above is 3,106 people, including 252 people from within refugee camps.
Al-Dhamsheh added that the numbers are updated every hour, adding that businessmen, families and dual nationals were allowed to leave and come through the Jaber crossing.
He stressed that Jordan will not force anyone to leave Jordan and the choice is left to Syrian refugees, noting at the same time that the original homeland of the refugee is his country.
The Directorate of Foreigners Affairs allowed Syrian refugees who do not have passports to leave under international transit tickets issued by the Syrian embassy. 600,000 Jordanian dinars were also allocated to conduct studies of the comprehensive plan to develop the Jaber and Karama border centers.
