The first Qatari humanitarian aid plane carrying various aid provided by the Qatar Red Crescent arrived at Damascus International Airport on Monday, as part of the air bridge operated by the State of Qatar to support the Syrians.
This is the first flight to arrive directly to Damascus after five previous flights via Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the plane is carrying humanitarian aid including ambulances and medicines provided by the Qatar Development Fund.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated in its statement on Monday that the aid comes in response to the urgent humanitarian needs in Syria, with the aim of addressing the difficult conditions facing the country, and confirming Qatar's commitment to supporting relief efforts and alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people.
The Qatari air bridge comes within a series of humanitarian efforts made by the State of Qatar to support affected areas and provide aid to those affected by humanitarian crises around the world.
