Foreign Minister: We are studying extending the validity of passports of Syrians abroad

The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the new Syrian administration, Asaad al-Shaibani, revealed on Wednesday a study to extend the validity of passports of Syrians abroad.

Al-Shaibani said, in a post on the X platform: "The Department of Consulates and Expatriates has directed the necessity of providing the best consular services to expatriates, listening to their complaints, and certifying all their documents free of charge until new instructions are issued."

He added: "We are also currently studying extending the validity of passports, reducing fees, and other measures that contribute to alleviating the burden on our honorable people outside Syria."

Al-Shaibani's announcement comes as part of a series of measures taken by the new government, with the aim of facilitating the return of Syrians.
