Sednaya prison surveillance camera officer arrested: SANA

The Public Security Directorate in the central city of Homs arrested two criminals from the ousted regime of Bashar al-Assad who were involved in war crimes, one of whom was responsible for disabling cameras in Sednaya prison in the countryside of the capital Damascus.

State-run news agency quoted a source in the Syrian Ministry of Interior on Friday as saying that the administration was able to arrest "Mohammad Nour al-Din Shalhoum", one of the officials responsible for surveillance cameras in Sednaya prison.

The source explained that "Shalhoum" was involved in disabling surveillance cameras in the prison before the Military Operations Administration took control of the area.

"Saher al-Naddaf", one of the former field commanders in the militias affiliated with the defunct regime, was also arrested. He is accused of committing massacres against the Syrian people and refusing to hand over his weapons, as he was hiding among civilians in the city of Homs.

In a related context, military sources confirmed to Zaman al-Wasl that the Military Operations Administration launched a security campaign on Friday night to comb the town of "Safsafa" east of the city of "Tartous", northwest of Syria.

The campaign aims to pursue the remnants of the militias that refused to hand over their weapons after the collapse of the defunct regime.

These operations come within the framework of efforts to enhance security and stability and pursue remnants of the ousted regime involved in war crimes and humanitarian violations.
