More than 125,000 Syrian refugees returned home: UN

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Syria announced that more than 125,000 Syrian refugees have returned to their country after the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad's regime.

This came in a post by the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Syria, Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, on his account on the "X" platform on Thursday.

Llosa explained: "More than 125,000 refugees have returned to Syria since the overthrow of Assad in December 8, 2024.

He stated that the Syrians returned to their country with hope after spending years in exile.

Llosa stressed the importance of implementing the stage procedures regarding the need for "reconstruction" in Syria, which is on the agenda of the international community.
