Turkey stops dual nationals from entering Syria through Al-Hamam crossing

Turkish authorities on Thursday stopped the entry of dual nationals through the Hamam crossing in the "Olive Branch" area in the northern countryside of Aleppo, into Syrian territory until further notice.

The Turkish authorities have not yet issued any official clarification regarding the reasons for this measure, while the crossing witnessed heavy congestion today with hundreds of Syrians holding the "temporary protection" card (Kimlik) entering Syrian territory, within the framework of the vacation announced by the Turkish Immigration Department.

The Turkish authorities had announced at the beginning of this year 2025 the opening of visits for Syrians, so that one member of each family is allowed to enter Syria to inspect their homes.

The conditions for the vacation were set for the period extending from January 1 to the beginning of next July, with the possibility of an individual entering Syrian territory three times during this period.
