Defense Minister Meets Free Syria Army Leadership to Discuss Military Integration

The Syrian Minister of Defense in the caretaker government, Major General Morhaf Abu Qasra, met on Thursday with the leaders of the US-backed Free Syria Army, which is stationed in the Tanf military garrison.

Engineer Abu Qasra met with the army commander "Salem Al-Antari", his chief of staff "Ahmed Al-Tamer", and the head of the operations department "Maher Al-Sayer".

The meeting was held with the aim of coordinating the work of the army within the Syrian Ministry of Defense, as a military source from the faction confirmed that the atmosphere of the meeting was positive to achieve full integration within the staff of the Syrian Ministry of Defense in the caretaker government.

The Free Syria Army is a partner of the international coalition forces in fighting the "Islamic State" organization, and the faction carried out several operations against Iranian militias, and participated in battles from the Tanf desert side.

In return, the faction participated with the forces of the Military Operations Administration in liberating the city of Palmyra and entering it through the "Aqirbat" axis and its desert, where it is currently stationed inside the city after the fall of the deposed Assad regime to enhance security and stability.
