The International Monetary Fund is looking forward to working with the recently formed Lebanese government, a fund spokesperson said on Thursday.
The fund is also ready to support the international community’s efforts to assist in Syria’s reconstruction, said fund spokesperson Julie Kozack in a scheduled press briefing.
Lebanon needs foreign funds to pay the reconstruction bill from last year’s war between Israel and Hezbollah, while Syria’s rebuild after 13 years of war is expected to also run in the billions of dollars.
