The Syrian forces prevented a Russian military convoy that left the Hmeimim air base in Latakia province from entering another Russian base in Tartus province, Anadolu Agency reported on Monday.
The convoy included 30 vehicles and mechanisms loaded with missiles, as it moved in the morning from the Hmeimim base towards Tartus.
While traveling on the Tartus road, a military checkpoint affiliated with the Syrian Defense Ministry stopped the Russian convoy, where the convoy waited for 8 hours before returning to the Hmeimim base.
Russia had repositioned its military forces in Syria in December 2024, following the military operation launched by the Syrian factions to overthrow the Baath regime.
