Aleppo countryside: Destruction and lack of services hinder the return of displaced people

The village of Bans in the southern countryside of Aleppo suffers from widespread destruction and an almost complete lack of basic services, which constitutes a major obstacle to the return of its residents who were displaced due to the war.

Despite the urgent desire of the residents to return to their homes, the absence of basic infrastructure, such as water, electricity, health and education, makes life almost impossible in the village that was severely damaged during the years of conflict.

The residents are calling on humanitarian organizations and concerned parties to contribute to the rehabilitation of their village, by restoring damaged homes and re-operating service networks, so that they can resume their normal lives after years of displacement and suffering.
