"It is not in the interest of the state to hold back money": Syria Trade Minister

The Syrian Minister of Internal Trade said that the merchant had a special role and status as a representative of his country abroad, referring to the role of merchants, industrialists and economic activities in spreading Islam throughout history.

Maher Khalil Hassan considered in a statement to the newspaper "Al-Thawra" that the merchant has an important humanitarian message, especially in this historical stage in building modern Syria, which requires the participation of all components, segments and spectrums of society, especially merchants, and that what happened in Syria will be a turning point not only in Syria but will have an impact on the regional and international levels, according to his description.

The minister pointed out during an expanded meeting with commercial, industrial and economic activities in Tartous, that the obstacles and difficulties that were restricting the Syrian people have ended and will not return, and now Syria has the first investment environment in the world, and there is hope for a very large economic renaissance with the determination of loyal Syrians. Recovery will be within a short period.

Hassan added, "The current financial reality is bad and weak, and the success of the current government is a reflection of the movement of the markets, but unfortunately there is a lack of money in the banks, indicating that it is not in the interest of the state to lock up money- If found - but there is a shortage of funds due to mismanagement in the defunct regime.

He pointed out that the farmer is considered one of the most important priorities that the government intends to give attention to, and there will be an agricultural plan to support the farmer and provide production requirements with support for farmers, as agriculture is the backbone of the Syrian economy during the next stage.

Minister Hassan considered that the unfair tax system is one of the most important things that must be changed, stressing that it will not remain in its current state, but there is a weakness in the capabilities, he said.
