Bodies of 9 Syrian army personnel recovered in Baniyas: Statement

Syrian General Security forces uncovered a mass grave containing members of the Ministry of Defense in Tartous Governorate on Wednesday.

The grave contained the bodies of nine members of the Ministry of Defense, bound and killed by regime remnants in the Baniyas countryside.

General Security forces had discovered a mass grave containing members of the General Security in the city of Qardaha in the Latakia countryside last Sunday. The members were killed by regime remnants after being captured during Syrian government operations against remnants of the fallen regime.

The Syrian Civil Defense announced the recovery of 26 bodies in various areas of the Syrian coast on Tuesday, including nine bodies in the city of Baniyas and 17 in the Latakia countryside.
