Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani affirmed on Saturday the Syrian government's commitment to continuing its efforts to enable the people to live in freedom and dignity throughout the country.
This came in a post he published on the X platform on the occasion of the fourteenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution, in which he said: "We will remain indebted to the first cry of freedom, which emanated from Daraa, the cradle of the Syrian revolution, and spread to all cities. We will remain loyal to the great sacrifices made by our people over more than 14 years."
Al-Shaibani added: "We will continue working until we enable our people, of all sects, across all their lands, to live in freedom and dignity."
This year's fourteenth anniversary of the Syrian revolution comes amid a new phase, following the fall of the Assad regime on December 8, when opposition factions were able to seize control of the capital, Damascus, after recapturing several other cities, thus ending more than six decades of Baath Party rule and 53 years of Assad family control.
