Assad's intelligence delivered weapons to Druze leader Hikmat al-Hijri in 2023.

Zaman al-Wasl verified a document showing that State Security Branch 312 in the southern Sweida province delivered a shipment of weapons and ammunition to followers of Sheikh Hikmat al-Hajri, the leader of the Druze community, in late 2023, coinciding with the escalation of popular protests against the former Assad regime in the province.

The document, which bears the branch's seal and a photo of one of the recipients, shows that the weapons were delivered in the name of "Amer Samir Zein al-Din" and included Kalashnikov and pump-action rifles, in addition to various ammunition.

This shipment of weapons is one of several, both preceding and following it, reflecting the extent of security coordination between the regime and some members of the religious establishment in Sweida.

Earlier, Zaman al-Wasl obtained a verified document showing that al-Hajri's son, Salman, born in 2000, was officially employed by the State Security Service - Branch 312, as a contracted civilian "clerk," as stated in the official document issued in 2020.
